The Karsh Institute’s award-winning podcast Democracy in Danger invites listeners to participate in a live recording of the show. Hosts Emily Burrill and Siva Vaidhyanathan, both UVA professors, will be joined on stage by legal scholar Jennifer Weiss-Wolf of Ms. magazine and UVA cinema expert Samhita Sunya. Weiss-Wolf’s work is featured in the new book 50 Years of Ms., all about the magazine’s groundbreaking pieces on women, sexual politics, the family, education, and reproductive rights. Sunya studies film, feminism, and gender dynamics in South Asia and the Middle East. Audience members will also get a chance to ask their own questions and then chat with the show’s participants and producers over light refreshments following the show.
