Pete Geren
- Former US Congressman, Texas' 12th District
Pete Geren represented Texas’ 12th district in the US Congress from 1989 to 1997. During his time in the House of Representatives, Geren served on the Armed Services Committee. He returned to public service in 2001 as the acting United States secretary of the Air Force, eventually rising to be appointed the secretary of the Army. Now Geren is president of the Sid Richardson Foundation, chair of the board of the Institute for Defense Analyses, and a member of the Miller Center’s Governing Council. Geren earned his bachelor’s degree and J.D. from the University of Texas at Austin.
