Philip Gorski

Philip Gorski is the Frederick and Laura Goff Professor and chair of the sociology department at Yale University. His work focuses on religion and politics in early modern and modern Europe and North America. Recent books (both with Samuel L. Perry) include American Covenant (Princeton University Press, 2017) and The Flag and the Cross (Oxford University Press, 2022). Gorski is currently writing a book on the fragmentation of the sacred in modern societies.
