Terry Moe

  • Professor of Political Science, Stanford University

Terry M. Moe is the William Bennett Munro Professor of Political Science at Stanford University and a senior fellow at the Hoover Institution. He has written extensively on the politics and reform of American education, the presidency, and public bureaucracy, as well as American politics and political institutions more generally. His most recent book is Presidents, Populism, and the Crisis of Democracy with William Howell. He previously served as chair of the department of political science and fellow at the Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences at Stanford, as well as senior fellow at the Brookings Institution and assistant professor at Michigan State University. Moe holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of California and a doctoral degree from the University of Minnesota.
