Jeff Rosen

Jeff Rosen is vice president of accreditation relations and director of the Open Pathway at the Higher Learning Commission (HLC). With expertise in new program development, governance, graduate study, civic engagement, and strategic planning, Rosen advises institutional leaders on accreditation policies and practices. As director of the Open Pathway, he provides guidance about the proposal and review process for quality initiative projects. Before joining HLC, Rosen served as a research university dean of professional and continuing studies, professor of art history, and elected trustee of a public community college. In those roles, he created numerous academic programs by developing cross-campus initiatives using multiple delivery platforms. Rosen holds a Ph.D. from Northwestern University, a master’s degree in adult education from Southern Connecticut State University, and a bachelor’s degree from New York University. He is the author of Julia Margaret Cameron’s ‘Fancy Subjects’ (Manchester University Press, 2016) and Julia Margaret Cameron: The Colonial Shadows of Victorian Photography (Paul Mellon Centre for Studies in British Art and Yale University Press, 2024).
