Sally Yates is a partner in the Atlanta law firm King & Spalding, in the special matters and government investigations practice. She served as deputy attorney general in the Barack Obama administration and as acting attorney general under President Donald Trump. She previously served in both Democratic and Republican administrations as a career civil servant at the Department of Justice, including as an assistant US attorney and later US attorney for the Northern District of Georgia, the first woman to hold that role. Yates graduated from the University of Georgia with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and earned a JD from the University of Georgia School of Law.
