Peter Wehner is a former speechwriter for the administrations of three former US presidents. He served as deputy director of speechwriting and as director of the Office of Strategic Initiatives for President George W. Bush. Previously, he served in the administrations of presidents Ronald Reagan and George H. W. Bush. Wehner is currently a contributing opinion writer for The New York Times and a contributing editor for The Atlantic. He has written for numerous other publications and appears as a commentator on a variety of accredited media outlets.
