Daniel Fairley II

Daniel Fairley II is a remarkable leader in public service and youth empowerment. He currently serves as the City of Charlottesville Department of Human Services’ youth opportunity coordinator, focusing on Black male achievement, and he is president of the 100 Black Men of Central Virginia. After earning a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Richmond, Fairley coordinated accessibility and inclusivity initiatives as part of an internship at the White House during the Barack Obama administration. Those transformative experiences drove him to pursue a master's degree in education at the University of Vermont. Recently, Fairley was nationally recognized for his work in the Charlottesville community by former President Obama and the Obama Foundation, which appointed him to serve as one of 100 inaugural members of the Leaders USA Cohort. Additionally, Fairley serves on the board of directors for the Boys and Girls Club of Central Virginia, Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry, and the local steering committee of the Karsh Institute of Democracy’s Equity Center at the University of Virginia.
