What is the cost to attend Democracy360?

Democracy360 is free and open to the public. Tickets are required. Seating is general admission and available on a first-come, first-served basis. 

How does Democracy360 ticketing work?

A valid ticket is required for each guest to attend a Democracy360 event. All events are general admission, and seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis. 

All tickets—including for events at the Rotunda and the Jefferson School—are processed through the Paramount Theater Box Office.

Online: 

  • Click on the orange “Get Tickets” button in the top right corner of this website. 

  • Click on each event to learn more about topics and speakers. 

  • Click on the “Get Tickets” button for each event that you would like to attend. 

  • You will be directed to the Paramount Theater Box Office website to enter your name, email address, and other relevant information. 

  • Tickets will be emailed. You will have the option to print your tickets at home, display them on your smartphone for entry, or pick them up from the Paramount Theater Box Office (215 E. Main St.). A valid, government-issued photo ID is required to pick up tickets. 

In person: 

  • Visit the Paramount Theater Box Office. 

  • Box office hours: Mon.– Fri., 10:00 AM–2:00 PM, and beginning one hour before each Democracy360 event. 

  • Tickets are available up until the start time of each event. 

Are my tickets transferable? May I cancel my tickets?

Tickets to Democracy360 events are nontransferable.

If you need to cancel your ticket, please do so by contacting the Paramount Theater Box Office by email at boxoffice@theparamount.net, by phone at 434.979.1333, or in person at 215 E. Main St., Charlottesville.

Which venues are hosting Democracy360 events?

Public events are taking place in Charlottesville, Virginia, at the following locations:  

  1. Paramount Theater (215 E Main St.) 

  2. The Jefferson School (233 4th St. NW) 

  3. The Dome Room in UVA's Rotunda (1826 University Ave.) 

Please click on the Schedule page to determine the exact venue for each event. Democracy360 working sessions are being held at various sites around UVA. 

What hotels are close to Democracy360 events?

The Omni Hotel on Charlottesville’s Downtown Mall and the Residence Inn Downtown are within walking distance of the main-stage venue, the Paramount Theater. Other options include the Graduate by Hilton, Kimpton’s The Forum Hotel, and Boar’s Head Resort. For more information on hotel options, visit the Plan Your Visit page.

What accommodations are being offered to make Democracy360 accessible to attendees with disabilities?

The Karsh Institute aims to make this an inclusive and accessible experience for everyone. An American Sign Language interpreter will be present at all mainstage events at the Paramount Theater.
