Olivia Haimerl (’26), who grew up in Ohio and attended the Ohio State University for her undergraduate studies, is a law student at the University of Virginia School of Law. She is committed to making state constitutions more accessible and understandable, helping citizens better recognize the laws that govern their rights and responsibilities. Beyond constitutional rights and legal transparency, her academic interests focus on health law, particularly Medicare reimbursement litigation and disability advocacy. She is working on the 50 Constitutions project through UVA Law’s Karsh Center for Law and Democracy in collaboration with UVA’s Karsh Institute of Democracy and the University of Wisconsin-Madison Law School. Additionally, Haimerl serves as an executive editor for the Virginia Law Review, sits on the Senior Editorial Board of the Virginia Journal of Social Policy & the Law, and has held executive roles in several student organizations. Most recently, she was a summer associate at King & Spalding in Washington, D.C. In her free time, she enjoys backpacking, live music, and crafting.
