Zoe Shook is a fourth year UVA student from Richmond, Virginia. She is double-majoring in foreign affairs and American studies and is planning a future career in law. Shook joined the Karsh Institute of Democracy as a research assistant at the beginning of her third year at UVA. In addition to her work with the Karsh Institute, she is the co-president of Hoos Vote, a CIO focused on civic engagement whose goal is to make the principles of democracy more accessible.
